5 exhibitors with 12 animals forward competed at the North Somerset show, but unfortunately a “false” positive for TB meant that the Graylands herd of the Parfitt family were missing.
The Maiden heifers had 5 forward with an eight month age gap between the Phonze daughter Bickfield Indus 9 and the third placed heifer Wiltown Patience. In second place and showing a Guernsey of her own was Heather Limond with Bickfield Sally 26
Two in calf heifers saw Colin Gleed placing Bickfield Linda 68 by Andante in first Place with the Addington Funds Trewey Plum Crazy in second place.
Two heifers in milk both from Bickfield saw the Ezekiel daughter B Mary 34 placed first with B Jewel 39 by Andante in second.
Bickfield Venessa 7 by Chiller was the dry cow winner a cow much admired by Colin in his reasons.
Two in milk 4 year olds again both from Bickfield saw B Michele 32 the daughter of the Australian sire Marglyn Action Mervyn in first place with B Golden Blanche 14 in second,these two were the winners of the pairs class and with the addition of B Mary 34 the group of three.
Colin then came to his Championship with the Ezekiel heifer Bickfield Mary 34 as champion with Bickfield Venessa 37 as Reserve Champion.
The winner of the In calf heifer class was Bickfield Suprema 125 by Hamps Valley May’s Yogi.
