17 Guernseys were forward from 7 exhibitors for Colin Evans to judge. Possibly the most competitive show so far this season with every class contested.
The Maiden heifers were the best class of the day with 7 heifers from 5 exhibitors and Colin opted for the smallest pair to head his class, with Cariad Annie’s Girl in first place with Trewey Poppy, making her debut for the Adam’s in second and James Bartlett’s Hinton Gay Lass 12 in third place.
5 strong in calf heifers saw Greensfield Crunch Glade repeat her Devon Show win with Trewey Prince Poppy 26 in second place and John Marks Skeel Norman sired Bourton heifer in third.
2 smart heifers in milk saw Fairfield Olivia H85 in first place with Jon White’s Weberry Violet in second place.
3 quality cows in milk saw last years Champion Greensfield Iceberg Junes Star from the Greenslades repeating her Devon Show win over Trevider Hercules Linnette from the Carpenters, with Kingwell Luck Troy from Jon White in third place.
5 pairs filled the ring with the Adam’s pair of Maidens which are so well matched taking the first prise in what was a ring full of impressive Guernseys.
The Championship saw Fairfield Olivia placed as Champion with Greensfield Junes Star as Reserve Champion.
The majority of the animals wil compete again next week at Okehampton, lets hope the sun shines again as it did on Thursday.
