Glanmor Dispersal Sale Monday September 16th.

Trade was outstanding for the sale of Guernseys at the Glanmor dispersal sale of Guernseys and Jerseys. Helen,  Daf and Tanwen Cox had taken the difficult decision to sell their prize winning Channel Island Herd on Farm at Laugharne in Carmarthenshire.

Top price, and I believe a breed record at auction, was lot 87, Glanmor Legend Okapi, a second calver who went to the Dawes’ family’s Edgehill Herd for 4000gns!

They also secured her mother, lot 78, Glanmor Hercules Okapi at 2400gns.

They also added lot 97, Glanmor Python Okapi and her heifer calf Glanmor Sprinter Okapi for 3200 and 320gns respectively. Also joining the Edgehill Herd was lot 154, Glanmor Nico Belle at 750gns and lot 167 Glanmor Levi Okapi, sold to 2300gns.

David Mann purchased the top priced animal’s 3 month old bull calf, Glanmor Nico Odin for 600gns and lot 107, Brymor Westward for 1800gns.

Completing the buyers was Colin and Hilary Evans, who added lot 166,  Glanmor Python West to the Hilcol Herd for 2000gns.

The Sales Family purchased lot 178, Parcwenallt Caspian Bluebell for 1600gns.

Richard Norman took home the last female lot of the sale, Glanmor Nico May, for 280gns.

This trade truly reflects the excellent quality of Guernseys developed by the Cox Family who will be a great loss to our Breed. We wish them well for their future ventures.

Kim Sales.
