Nine exhibitors brought 25 cattle (also 11 calves judged the previous evening) for judge Morris Grose form Cornwall to peruse. Although we were missing the Cornish entry, the quality of cattle on show was not compromised in the slightest.

Emma Dow from Petersfield in Hampshire took the top honours with Froxfield Millie a second calver by Instead Oberon. She had stood fifth in the heifer class at last years show and showed great promise at that time. Judge Morris Grose commented that he was so glad to have made the journey up from Cornwall to see such a wonderful Guernsey cow.  Winner of the Peter Down Trophy for the most points in the classes was The Bickfield Herd.

It was particularly pleasing for this writer, as Peter was my Uncle and started me off with the showing bug!!

In the Handler/Calf Classes the night before, Bethan Senior was the top placed Guernsey Handler. Also taking part in the very competitive Coloured breed classes were Jenny and Chloe Paull and Jo and Justina Langley.  The writer apologises for the lack of photos from this event, but the classes were running at the same time as cattle needing to be milked out for judging the next day.  Champion Coloured Breed Calf was won by the Greenslades with Greensfield Mays Rosebank.

Well done to all who took part in these classes.
