This year's Bath & West Show saw seven exhibitors with 31 cattle forward. There was an impressive 10 calves present for the Calf Show and Showmanship Classes. Handlers in attendance were Jo, Elissa and Justina Langley, Louise and Elizabeth Mair and their friend Becky, Jenny and Chloe Paull, Emma Greenslade, Kelly Cornish, Hannah Stroud and Laura Sales. Morgan Senior was also at the show helping with some Holsteins.
Leaders placed in the very competitive Interbreed Showmanship classes were, Elissa and Justina Langley, Morgan Senior, Jo Langley, Laura Sales, Emma Greenslade, Louse Mair and Becky. All classes were large in numbers and all handlers did extremely well.
In the Guernsey Calf classes judged by Mr Martin Alford, the top places were as follows:

1. Norman & Mills. Cadbury Hawk Pretty.
2. B & S Adams. Chiddingstone L K Margaret.

In the main cattle classes on the Thursday morning, the in-calf classes proved to be numerically superior, attracting the highest numbers in each class. Brian and Sheila Adams, The Paull family, Richard Norman and Cathryn Mills (aided once again by Laura Sales) and Sir Howard Guinness (whose animals were looked after by the Mair family), all fielded heifers. So it was left up to The Parfitt family, The Durbins/Sales, and Chettle Farm, (well, Ian and his "Harem" of female helpers!!!) to provide the "Milk" section of the competition.
Judge for the day was Richard Emm who will provide his own report. Meanwhile, here are the results in full:

Once again the Guernseys are making their mark in these Interbreed competitions. The Bickfield/Sales team were also successfull in the Stock Presentation Competition coming second.
Thank you to all exhibitors for turning out in these difficult times. I hope our numbers will return to normal next year to include those out with TB and hopefully a break between this and the Devon Show, will attract back our Devon members.
