At a time when there has been some friendly discussion about how to get the best images from the various agricultural shows for the website and other EGCS publications, along comes this photograph from Anthony Mosley   --- whose slogan is "Improving the Image of Agriculture."

I am, of course, happy to post whatever photographs are sent to me for the website.  I'm also happy to give others the necessary passwords and (simple, I promise) instructions on how to post their own photos in the EGCS photo gallery .  I've also spoken with the PR/Media departments of various shows to see if their official photographers can supply images.

A typical response is this message from the folks at Agripicture :

We are the show photographers and produce a record of the show and material for next years publicity. As we do not have a tight deadline and require quality we shoot in raw. As you can imagine there is a huge amount of material and we are happy to supply the images that we have taken with a link to our website. However it will not be immediately. If you need the material urgently we would require a fee.

Please keep sending those reports and pictures, and I will continue to do my best to post them on this website quickly.  And please don't dismiss the thought of at least occasionally hiring a professional photographer to cover Guernsey events at a show --- or shows --- out of hand.

As Nicola Dean wrote me yesterday, "Until we download the photos I'm not sure what we have got - it's really difficult when you have animals competing in two seperate breed rings at the same time!"

Congratulations to Laity Farm Primrose 16.

Copies of this image, and many other farm images, can be ordered from Anthony Mosley --- or he can be hired to take photos at many agricultural shows.  His telephone and fax number is 01822-833-204, or by e-mail to info@anthonymosley-photographer.co.uk
