MALENY DAIRIES
The visit to Maleny Dairies proved one of the highlights of the recent WGCF tour, and it was a pleasure to see a family taking control of their future and providing an opportunity for growth for Guernseys in that area.
The Hopper family have farmed at Maleny since 1948 and produced the famous Ellendean Belladonna, who in 1993 produced a World Record of over 15,000 kgs, but in 2000 after deregulation of the milk market in Australia, nearly gave up farming but instead decided to fight back and have produced a very successfull business which is now seeking additional supplies of Guernsey milk to supply a thriving business.

The family adopted the cartoon cow as their emblem which in black and white form was the Maleny town emblem, but such is the success of the Dairy that the local town council have recently repainted the town logo in Guernsey colours.
All the delivery vehicles are painted in the same Gold livery and are given names and "Tinkerbelle" the Refrigerated ute is loaned out to local schools/clubs to act as a mobile food service opportunity but also acts as a mobile hoarding for the duration of the event
